simply dakshy: dad's birthday

dad's birthday!!
in conjunction with dad's birthday, mom, sista and i decided to take him for a buffet dinner in a hotel. so, dakshy was assigned to pick a hotel with proper rates and get the reservations done. as i come online, surprise surprise.. who do i see?
siewie.

siewie and i chat for a while before i ask siewie to help me out with the hotels thingy. she surfs the net and gets all the required info for about 4 hotels before i can even one. thank god i got her to help me. if i had to do it on my own, i;m quite sure i would have only gone for the dinner on the 11th. *smiles*

anyways, after checking out the hotels and stuff, i call them up and check out the rates. then, i write down the entire list of hotels, coffee houses, phone numbers, types of meals served, and rates. i then go over to my mom....

"mom. i've got all the info you need for all possible hotels in kl which has nice food. all you've gotta do is listen carefully as i read and then make up your mind on one. and one more thing. i aint gonna repeat myself, so you've gotta be attentive and STOP sewing."
"dakshy. amma can multi-task. you just tell me, i'll pick one."
*dakshy reads super long list efficiently, slowly and pronounces each word with expertise*
"hmmm. i think we should just go to 'the ship'."
"WHAT?!"
"yea. i like the food there and your dad likes it too. we'll go there. punam? you okay with it?"
"yea mom. anything's fine."
"but.. but... i went through all this hassle to get all these info...."

so, yea. it was the ship after all.
presentees were - mom, dad, granda, sista, dakshy, yoga, mira, shamita, sucjita, aunt sue and shyam.
